Fundraising activities are hotting up for KingsCare!

Dave Pinkham’s coastal walk has raised 21% of his £5,000 target to be split between KingsCare and the SW Coastpath Association. Please press on Dave’s picture below for a link to his donations page.

#DoItforDeaks is a project that KingsCare has undertaken through Briony Enright, our mental health support worker, in response to the worrying increase in suicides (particularly of young adults) in the Newton Abbot area. The aim of the project is to lessen the stigma around mental health and encourage those experiencing suicidal thoughts to reach out for help. Many organisations are working towards the same goal and, on 23rd November, Kingsteignton Town Council are putting on a community roadshow to bring all these organisations together at the Passage House Hotel. More details of the event will be made available soon.

In the meantime, Mental Health Muscles, in conjunction with Kingsteignton Athletic Football Club held a charity football match on 30th June. Through this £670 was donated to the project by Mental Health Muscles and £148 was raised through the sale of wrist bands. Other activities are planned including a SkyDive on 29th September. If you fancy skydiving for the cause you would be very welcome to join Briony and others on the day. Please press DONATE below, there is more information under events (on left hand side).
